1. Broken Torsion or Extension Spring
Most likely cause — if you heard a loud bang from the garage, this is probably it. Springs counterbalance the weight of the door. When one breaks, the door becomes too heavy for the opener to lift.

2. Dead Opener — Power or Motor Issue
If you press the button and nothing happens — no sound, no movement — the opener may have lost power or the motor may have failed.
Check:

- Is there power in the garage?
- Does the wall button work but not the remote?
